The SensMax Pro S1 Wireless People Counter is an entry-level, battery-powered traffic monitoring sensor designed for automated footfall tracking in retail stores, boutique chains, and international retail networks. Built to streamline data delivery to corporate headquarters without local network friction, it offers rapid wireless deployment and reliable visitor counting across store entrances.

How It Works

The SensMax Pro S1 generates an invisible horizontal infrared beam across store entrances. Every time a visitor crosses the beam, the event is logged into onboard memory. For maximum counting accuracy, the sensor is recommended to be installed at a height of 1.3 – 1.5 meters, preventing false counts caused by shopping carts, low-slung bags, or small children.

System Architecture & Data Transfer

Operating completely cable-free, the sensor communicates wirelessly with a central SensMax gateway connected to a local network router. The gateway retrieves stored counts every 20 minutes and transmits them automatically over the internet to a central cloud server. If a local wired/Wi-Fi router is unavailable, a cellular GPRS/GSM gateway can be deployed to push statistics directly over mobile networks—eliminating the need for a dedicated local PC.
