SensMax SE Infrared Pedestrian Counter
The SensMax SE Infrared People Counter is a standalone, battery-powered sensor designed for visitor traffic tracking in areas where local network connectivity or internet access is limited or unavailable—such as pop-up retail kiosks, leased event spaces, outdoor parks, or historic museum buildings with thick structural walls. Operating completely independent of IT infrastructure, it provides reliable footfall monitoring without complex installations.
How It Works
The SensMax SE projects an invisible horizontal infrared beam across an entrance or walkway, incrementing the count each time the beam is interrupted by a passing visitor. Traffic statistics are processed locally and saved securely directly into the device's onboard memory, eliminating the need for wireless radio gateways, local PCs, or local network routers.
Manual Data Collection Workflow
Extended Internal Memory: Local memory logs and retains up to 250 days of detailed hourly footfall statistics.
Proximity Optical Reader: Staff collect traffic counts using the portable SensMax SE/DE Manual Data Collector. Pointing the handheld reader at the sensor from up to 1 meter away and pressing the "Read" button transfers all stored logs in seconds.
High Device Capacity: A single manual collector unit can gather data from up to 150 individual SensMax SE sensors across different locations.
PC Software Upload: Collected statistics are transferred from the manual collector to a PC or laptop via USB connection for in-depth analysis within the SensMax EasyReport analytics suite.
Key Features & Strategic Advantages
100% IT-Independent: Operates autonomously without requiring Wi-Fi, Ethernet, cellular, or RF gateway infrastructure.
Ultra-Low Power Consumption: Powered by standard internal batteries delivering an extended operational lifespan of up to 2 years.
Non-Intrusive Wireless Deployment: Surface mounts in minutes using double-sided mounting tape without running power cables or modifying walls.
Robust Data Retention: Onboard memory holds up to 250 days of hourly data, preventing data loss even during long intervals between manual reads.
Applications & Real-World Use Cases
Temporary Retail Kiosks & Pop-Up Shops: Track customer footfall in leased spaces where connecting to local network infrastructure is restricted.
Museums & Historic Buildings: Deploy traffic counting in protected historical structures where running network cabling or RF signals is prohibited.
Public Parks & Recreation Facilities: Monitor visitor usage across outdoor trails, park entrances, and public facilities lacking power or network connectivity.
Exhibitions & Trade Shows: Gather attendance metrics for temporary event booths and venue entrances.
